The IIAFs
- When: June 23-26
- Where: Toronto, Cananda
- What: A weekend celebration of Indian cinema filled with fashion shows (IIFA Rocks), awards presentation ceremony, eco-friendly green carpet receptions and star-sightings galore.
- Who's in: Shah Rukh Khan [the star performer of IIFA Awards ceremony at Rogers Centre], Anushka Sharma; Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Rahul Khanna, Zayed Khan, Esha Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Mallika Sherawat, Arjun Rampal, Esha Deol and Salman Khan, among others, are tipped to attend.
- Who's out: The powerful Bachchan clan, comprising Amitabh, Abhishek, Aishwarya and Jaya, will not join in. Until 2009, Amitabh Bachchan was synonymous with IIFA in his capacity as the brand ambassador. But rumour has it that he had a fall-out with IIFA organisers last year over hosting it in strife-torn Sri Lanka. Abhishek's recent tweet: "Just to clarify….Neither Aishwarya nor I will be performing or attending IIFA Toronto, classic case of jumping the gun!" provides proof enough.
Dubai votes
Toronto may be the epicentre of IIFA action, but Dubai has already cast its vote on who should win. tabloid! asked Bollywood buffs on who should take home the Best Actor and Actress trophy. IIFA: Did you know
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, who have avoided each other like the plague, may unwittingly meet here. While Salman is tipped to promote his debut production Chillar Party, SRK will dazzle on stage on June 25.
Word has just trickled in that Jermaine Jackson will perform with Bollywood's top singer Sonu Nigam on June 24. They will together pay a tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson.
Sources says Sanjay Dutt, whose film Double Dhamaal will premiere on June 23, is unlikely to walk the green carpet. However, Arshad Warsi and Kangna Ranaut have confirmed their attendance.
