Jithu Joseph's Malayalam film Mummy and Me is about the relationship between a mother and her daughter. Archana Kavi plays Jewel, a college-going girl. Her senior in college and local guardian is Rahul (Kunchako Boban), who secretly admires her. We may as well guess how the story will run from here. Mukesh and Urvashi are her screen parents.

Boban's first movie Fazil's Aniyathi Pravu (1997) was a huge hit, especially on the campuses, and he became a heartthrob among the teens.

The movie ran for 225 days in a single theatre in Kerala. There really seemed to be no looking back for Boban: he was cast in Nakshathra Tharattu and Mayilppeelikkavu, and both films merrily rang the box-office bells.

This is Kavi's second film. Her debut performance in Neelathaamara (2009), scripted by one of Kerala's literary giants MT Vasudevan Nair, won her critical acclaim. Urvashi is a renowned actress and her debut Munthanai Mudichchu (Tamil, 1984) was helmed by K Bhagyaraj. Her work was finally recognised when she received the Kerala State Award for Best Actress in 1989 for Mazhavil Kavadi and Varthamanakalam.

In Mummy and Me, Urvashi is said to have brought a sense of compassion to the work.
