He’s got the world dancing to his steps and getting healthy, and now he’s coming to the UAE to lead the fitness party. Beto Perez, the creator of Zumba, the Latin music workout that’s now a global sensation, will be in Abu Dhabi on March 14 to lead a two-hour master class.
Call Zumba Fitness Party, Perez will be joined by his dancers at the Aldar Academy at 3pm where, for two hours, he will lead fans and Zumba fanatics through his latest moves and choreography incorporating hip-hop, samba, salsa and meringue. The UAE’s top Zumba instructors will lead the warm-up. The event is open to men and women of all ages and fitness levels.
Perez is a Colombian-American dancer and choreographer who founded Zumba Fitness in 2001. The fitness programme quickly gained a cult-like following and is now introduced in 185 countries with an estimated 14 million people practicing the exercise. A Zumba class alternates fast dance moves with slower ones for an interval-training workout that’s suppose to tone muscles and burn calories.
