Hardcore softie

Popular DJ and TV host Mo Twister is quitting showbusiness to return to the US.

The acerbic celebrity, who picked many fights with fellow celebrities while hosting talk shows, is apparently a softie inside — he wants to leave to heal a broken heart. Several months after he and actress Rhian Ramos broke up, the broadcast celebrity still could not move on.

And he's making a controversial exit as he promises to reveal a dark secret about a past relationship with another celeb.

You mentioned in one of your tweets about an abortion issue that you could not live with. Is this about Rhian?

I promised I will talk only on my show, and I would only reveal details allowed legally. I have been told Rhian has hired a lawyer to look out for her, so I will be very careful in my pronouncements. It may or may not be one of the bombs I will drop, but I will reveal something.

Where will you be going to next, and what will you do in the States?

I will be based in New York and will try to find some work, perhaps away from broadcasting. But if it's the same line of work, I wouldn't mind, I love what I do. But just to get my frame of mind away from the entertainment business, maybe I will consider taking on another job.

Do you really have to leave?

It came to a point that I felt I had to leave because I am not able to cope with what I am going through while I am here. Besides, I have a daughter to take care of back in the US. And, to be honest, Rhian is a big part of my reason to leave. I'm in a dark place right now, and perhaps a change in environment would help.

Rhian sent a message via Twitter saying the two of you are not even friends at the moment. What's your reaction to that?

She is her own person, and I cannot stop her from saying what she feels. I would have loved for us to be friends, but if she can't do it, I can't force her. It was a bad break-up, I guess, and a really sad ending to what I thought was a beautiful relationship.

What caused the rift in your relationship?

I am still clueless at this point, that is why I guess I am having a hard time moving on. I don't know about her, but if you ask me I would have continued with the relationship.

Did you try to win her back?

I tried to save the relationship, but it takes two to tango, as they say.

Do you still love her?

Yes.

Just married

Pop icon Jolina Magdangal finally tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Mark Escueta, lead vocalist of the popular rock band Rivermaya.

The couple had two simple and secret ceremonies, one attended by families at Madre de Dios church in Tagaytay City, a popular holiday destination in the Philippines, and a garden wedding with their closest friends at the upscale Splendio Golf and Country Club Resort, also in the same town.

The honeymoon is still on hold, but the newly married couple would like to go to Alaska to see the Northern Lights. "The timing has to be perfect to get a clear view, so it will depend on that," says Magdangal.

Is it over?

Have celebrity couple KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual split up?

Although neither has confirmed it, Concepcion just returned from a European holiday where, before she left, she tweeted she would like to give herself some time to think. At the recent PMPC Star Awards for TV, which both Concepcion and Pascual attended, they were not seated together and even allegedly snubbed each other back stage.

Concepcion, who hosts the talk show The Buzz, said she will speak at the right time about the status of her relationship with Pascual, who has remained evasive about the issue.

Queenie abdicates

Showbiz newbie Queenie Padilla, eldest daughter of action superstar Robin Padilla, is leaving the business to devote her life to being a good Muslim.

This she decided after a pilgrimage to Makkah, where she says she "found peace and a better direction in life". The struggling young star revealed in interviews after the Haj that she was unhappy with her career, and felt she didn't belong.

Andi's bundle of love

Andi Eigenmann gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Wednesday at St Luke's Medical Centre in Quezon City, Manila.

The baby, named Adrianna Gabrielle, was delivered by Caesarean section. The baby's heartbeat was initially reported to be weak, but is now good. The new mum and her baby have since been discharged from hospital.

No official photos have been released, as Eigenmann is trying to protect the baby from the prying eyes of the media and the public, who are curious to know if the baby looks like the alleged father, Albi Casino. The actor is still insisting on a paternity test before he assumes responsibility for the child.
