Derek Ramsay was quick to quash suggestions he is Kris Aquino’s mystery boyfriend. He tells tabloid! he and Aquino are just friends who support each other.
Kris Aquino’s Instagram posts caught everyone by surprise, including you I suppose?
(In her Instagram post, krisaquino214 said: “It was a hard day for both of us, you had your personal issues & so did I… But you were there for me & I was grateful you gave me the chance to be there for you… I said it before, super cute na may coffee pa. And now we can add chocolate marble & French Fries to that list…)
For the record, so people stop insinuating, Kris and I are just really good friends. We’ve known each other for almost a decade. We are friends and vowed a long time back to be there for one another through thick and thin.
She posted something as if to imply that she was leaving it to the public to make the interpretation. Wasn’t that misleading?

No naman (Not really). I have the highest respect for Kris and didn’t find anything misleading about her posts on Twitter. I would have posted something like that in appreciation of a friend. I think the public should just let her be. She’s a great woman and deserves to be happy.
As her friend, do you have an idea who this mystery guy is?
I do not have an idea, and even if I did, I don’t think it is my business to announce. Let’s give her some privacy. Maybe she wants to enjoy this relationship, unlike her past ones which were heavily publicised.
So what was it that made Kris Tweet almost something romantic about you?
I just gave her a piece of advice that probably hit the mark for her. Plus, we also attended a party together, then a picture was posted. But it’s nothing more than that really — we were just two friends hanging out. That’s it.
So you are single at the moment? Dating?
(Laughs) I knew this was coming. Yes, I am happily single and not currently looking for anyone. I’m enjoying my status now, even if it’s complicated.
Complicated? What do you mean?
I was joking. I’m just happy being by myself now. It gives me a chance to focus on what I need to do. I have so many plans for my career, and I have a family who needs my loving attention, too. They are my inspiration at the moment.
Do you think celebrities should be posting messages about their private lives in social media, if they want some privacy?
It’s a case to case basis. I use Twitter and Instagram to update my friends about what’s happening in my life. What I don’t talk about, I hope people understand it’s not meant to be shared. So, yeah, celebrities are people too and they are free to use social media to express what they feel, what’s going on in their lives, and it’s also a way for them to interact with their fans.
