Tempting offer

Rafael Rossell has confirmed his transfer to GMA7 to be the leading man in a new prime time series that the network will produce. Rossell will star opposite Marian Rivera in the local adaptation of hit Korean drama series Temptation of Wife. Rossell was said to have been offered another lead role by his former home studio, ABS CBN, but could not resist the tempting offer made by GMA7 and the chance to work with Rivera. The actor, who also dabbles in modelling, revealed a film project is part of the deal he is going to sign with his new network.

Strong chances

Queenierich Rehman, the Philippines’ representative to the Miss World 2012 beauty contest, has been working hard to get in the radar of pageant judges. And so far, the Filipina-Pakistani beauty has been succeeding. She’s been a finalist in all of the fast track qualifiers (pre-pageant competitions on swimwear, fashion, talent and multi-media) that allow candidates to gain an automatic slot in the semi-finals. Impressing pageant organisers and judges with her beat-boxing skills, Rehman was recently named to the Top 5 of the talent competition. And with a standing ovation after her performance, many are betting the Filipina stunner will win this one. The Miss World crown is the only major beauty title that Philippines has not won so far.

Lead star

2012 has been a good year so far for L.J. Reyes. And it’s just going to get better. The actress has been picked to star in a new prime time series, Aso ni San Roque, an adaptation of a recently made indie film, Bwakaw, that was a critical and commercial success. Reyes credits hard work for her success, and is thankful for the break she’s been getting from her home studio. She first stepped into the limelight when she won runner-up honours in Starstruck 2004, the celebrity reality search on GMA 7. After playing supporting roles, she’s finally got a lead role in a prime time series.

Ai Ai marries

Local Comedy Queen Ai Ai delas Alas confirmed she has married her boyfriend, Jed Salang, in Las Vegas recently. The two have been dating since last year, and have been spotted in several public events. Prior to the unannounced marriage, delas Alas has tagged along her non-showbiz boyfriend in her concerts abroad. During her last trip, rumours were ripe that she and Salang have tied the knot in Las Vegas, which the actress confirmed on her return last week.

My playlist: Carl Guevarra

Song on repeat mode: Whistle by Flo Rida.

Nice, upbeat song that’s easy on the ears.

One to make me cry: Someone Like You by Adele.

Emotionally-charged song that everybody can relate to. It’s also sad.

Song that makes you move: Titanium by David Guetta featuring Sia.

One of the many that I really like, and when it plays I can’t help but dance a little bit.

At karaoke you would sing: Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Great pick up song, hahahaha.

Track I’d skip right now: Payphone by Maroon 5.

For some reason, I just want to skip it.
