Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's postponed show, part of his Temptation Reloaded World Tour, will now be held in Muscat on March 31, according to Rajiv Chowdhary of Light and Shadow Enterprise.

The show was originally planned for February 17 as part of the Muscat Festival. "It is still part of the festival and had to be put off due to certain commitments of artists," Rajesh Raman of Roar Entertainment said.

Three event management companies and a local radio station have come together now to organise the show that Raman claimed would be the biggest entertainment event ever held in Oman. "Shah Rukh is a global brand and we are expecting over 25,000 people to turn up for the show," he said.

To justify his argument about Khan being a global brand he said that Alice Entertainment and Gordon Mackenzie were known to have done international shows like the recent Bryan Adams concert. "They are joining hands to hold [the] Shah Rukh show here in Muscat because his popularity is not limited to India, it [exists the] world over," he stressed.

Misplaced rumours

Chowdhary, known to bring big shows to Oman, reiterated that rumours about Khan's show being cancelled are misplaced. "The show will go on and we promise to be the best and biggest ever in Oman," he said.

Mackenzie said that well-known choreographer from India, Ganesh Hegde, will join Khan with his troupe for the show. Also joining will be actor Priyanka Chopra.

Organisers said that the tickets would be priced in six slots from 10 to 500 Omani riyals (Dh95.36 to Dh4,768.11). This will be the second visit by Khan after eight years.

Chowdhary added that for big concerts like this, there has been great interest from expatriate communities in the other Gulf countries. "We are working out tour packages for those wishing to come for the show from UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and other places," he said.
