SRK vs Farah Khan

At one point they were B-town's closest buddies, but this fairytale friendship ended when choreographer Farah turned director and broke her vow of never casting anyone other than SRK in the lead in her movies, despite generous Shah showering her with expensive gifts (including a luxurious Mumbai apartment).

So, when after making two massive blockbusters together - Om Shanti Om and Main Hoon Na - Farah decided to cast Akshay Kumar instead of SRK for her third movie, Tees Maar Khan, an obviously hurt SRK refused to talk to her. And despite pretending in public that they were willing to patch things up, there has been no confirmation or movie collaboration to prove all is well, with pals insisting the friendship needs a lot more work.

Kelly Dorjee vs Dino Morea

When the golden rule of friendship - ‘never date your best friend's ex' - is broken, then all hell breaks loose. And that's exactly what happened between one-time best buds, Kelly Dorjee and Dino Morea.

When Kelly and his then-lover Lara Dutta parted ways, Dino stepped in to date her almost straight after. And although Dino and Lara never went public with their relationship, Kelly did the honours for them, lashing out at Dino in an interview for keeping him in the dark, and insisting, "Dino lied to me. [Lara] had to tell me because he didn't. If one wants to [throw away] 15 years [of friendship] then be ready to stand up for it." Leaving Dino, who soon split from Lara, refusing to retaliate.

Ram Gopal Varma vs Karan Johar

It's a known fact that there's no love lost between two of Bollywood's top directors, with the two poking fun at each other, and their ongoing movie projects, at any given Twitter opportunity. And it's their drastically different cinematic tastes - one indulging in larger-than-life Bollywood romances, and the other preferring to showcase violent gang wars on the big screen - as well as their varied friends circle that forms the basis of their sometimes personal Twitter warfare.

Ever since RGV poked fun at KJo's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, calling it the scariest film he had ever seen, the two have regularly taken potshots at each other.

And their war of words doesn't look like it will die down anytime soon, when, in response to a spate of Ram's tweets, KJo Twitter-sniped, "You have an amazing sense of humour, Ramu!" Adding, "It never shows up in your films though."

Aishwarya Rai vs Rani

Aishwarya and Rani set out to disprove the B-town rule that actresses can't be pals, with the two promoting their best friendship on celeb talk show, Jeena Isis Ka Naam Hai, back in 2002.

"We are going to be friends forever," Rani told Ash on the show. But in 2004, things turned messy after Rani took over the role left vacant, when Ash was ousted from SRK's Chalte Chalte, angering the green-eyed beauty, who then refused to talk to Rani. And, it was on Koffee With Karan that Rani clarified that she was no longer friends with Ash, with the Bride and Prejudice actress showing her unwillingness to forgive Rani by refusing to invite her to her 2007 wedding to Rani's formerly close pal, Abhishek.
