London: Grammy-winning duo The Civil Wars say they are sorry to cancel part of their European tour - but family comes first.
Due to a serious illness in the band's family, concerts this month in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, The Netherlands and Turkey have been postponed.
The American folk act is planning to reschedule the shows in the fall, after singer Joy Williams has her first child this summer.
Williams says "as much as we love music, family is a priority too, so having to postpone is not something that we wanted to do. But when family calls, you answer."
The Civil Wars - made up of Williams and John Paul White - won two Grammys in February for best folk album and best country duo/group performance.
