The Teen Dreams

Members Justin Bieber, 17, Connor Cruise, 16, Jaden Smith, 13

When Hollywood royalty meets the current multimillionaire pop king and they all become pals, the results are suitably teen magazine fodder. And the news that Bieber, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's adopted son, Conner, and one of the highest paid kid actors in Hollywood, Jaden, have started hanging out has already seen the boys dubbed the ‘new Brat Pack'. After Justin's girlfriend, Disney beauty Selena Gomez, laid down the law about the bad influence of the Biebs' current crop of pals - which included Chris Brown and Sean Kingston - for fear of being ditched by the Wizards of Waverley Place star, the 17-year-old Baby singer began casting around for a new band of brothers, finally settling on the safer likes of Connor and Jaden.

"Connor and Jaden have been friends for years, because their fathers are such good pals," spilled a source. "They see each other socially all the time." And with Connor said to be trying to make it as a DJ, the teenager bumped into Justin at an industry bash, with the pair hitting it off. "They're close in age and have both experienced life in a bubble," said a mole. "They understood where the other was coming from right away." Adding, "Connor is pretty shy. Tom's glad he's found an extrovert pal."

And the trio of heartthrobs were recently spotted out on a boys' night out at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood, enjoying the attractions and trying the rides. "They got total VIP treatment," said an eyewitness. "But like any teenage boys, they were pretty scared on some of the rides."

The Indie Boys

Members Robert Pattinson, 25, Tom Sturridge, 25, Andrew Garfield, 28, Jesse Eisenberg, 28

It took British actor Andrew Garfield bonding with his Social Network co-star Jesse Eisenberg over their mutual dislike of Justin Timberlake, to bring the US actor into the Brit indie boy fold, which includes long-time best friends, Tom and Robert. And with all four currently flying high in their careers, it was only a matter of time before the guys started hanging out socially, with the quartet enjoying nights out in NYC.

"Rob, Tom and Andrew have known each other for years," revealed a friend. "And Andrew introduced Jesse to the guys after they starred together in The Social Network." Adding, "Jesse doesn't go out much, he's pretty shy; all of them are in their own ways, it's kind of cute. They cause quite a stir when they're out together, so they keep things pretty low-key."

And so far, their boys' nights out have seen the gang take in live performances by Rob's guitar-playing pals Sam Bradley and Bobby Long, accompanied by Andrew's girlfriend (and Jesse's Zombieland co-star), Emma Stone, tagging along too.

The Young Comedy Crew

Members Seth Rogen, 29, Jonah Hill, 27, Jay Baruchel, 29, James Franco, 33

With James Franco and Seth Rogen having starred in short-lived comedy TV show, Freaks and Geeks, as well as Knocked Up and Pineapple Express together; and Jonah Hill and Jay Baruchel also alumni of the Judd Apatow comedy school, it's no surprise that the four guys soon started hanging out socially - forming the next generation of Frat Packers, that counts Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson among its members.

"For the most part, we just liked hanging out," says James of his Freaks and Geeks-era friendship with Rogen. And the four will finally get a chance to show their off-screen bromance chemistry on the big screen in Rogen's upcoming directorial debut, Jay and Seth Vs The Apocalypse.

"It's a movie about a bunch of friends who are stuck in a house together as the apocalypse happens outside, and they barricade themselves in," says Rogen. "They think they've survived the worst and then realise they can't stand to be around each other." Adding of the cast, "It's all our friends, luckily, and we all play ourselves… I literally play Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel literally plays himself, and Jonah and James — they're playing themselves. It's a very strange movie."

The New Yorkers

Members Ben Stiller, 45, Justin Theroux, 40, Will Ferrell, 44

With comedy king, Ben, and the recently ubiquitous Justin Theroux having been friends for years, the Night At The Museum actor's wife, Christine Taylor, is said to have been instrumental in bringing Justin and Jennifer Aniston together.

Recently insisting, "They're both great people, I love them both," Ben also revealed that he was working on a script for Zoolander 2 with Theroux, with whom he co-wrote the hilarious Tropic Thunder, with Theroux also said to be taking on directing duties - and the pair has also long been friends with comedy legend and Zoolander actor, Will Ferrell.

"The guys see each other all the time, along with Paul Rudd and John C Reilly," said a close pal. "They're always making cameos in each other's movies or doing viral videos for Will's Funnyordie website. Plus, they hang out with the SNL cast throughout the week too." Adding, "Ben's really happy that Justin and Jen got together. They've already been on a few double dates."

And Ben recently proved his dedication to his long-time pal, Ferrell, by borrowing a helicopter at the last minute to fly to Washington to celebrate Will being awarded the Mark Twain Award for comedy.
