SRK can learn from Sallu

Why is it that Salman always succeeds in getting past controversies?

This isn't the first time Shah Rukh Khan has blown his top (read cricket fracas) in public and it probably won't be the last. While rival Salman Khan has also kicked up his fair share of controversies, he manages to go scot-free in most of them!

Shah Rukh's recent rage rampage at the Wankhede Stadium highlighted the fact that when SRK brawls, it's splashed across the media defaming him as a brat. His tendency to indulge in a blame game only worsens the situation, say insiders.

SRK was earlier in the news for slapping Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt's party. Both times he was ‘allegedly' under the influence of alcohol. While in the first case he justified his actions by saying he was protecting his kids from being manhandled by security guards, in the Shirish slapping case it was because the Tees Mar Khan director allegedly took a dig at him.

On the other hand, Salman recently refused to be instructed by a choreographer to shoot for an item song in a film because he wanted to do his own steps. And this was after he arrived six hours late for the shoot! But the makers didn't say a word and Sallu won. Unlike others who don't dare refuse YashRaj Films anything, Salman recently refused to travel to Morocco to shoot a song for Ek Tha Tiger. And YRF, without a word of argument, put up a special set at Film City instead, to accommodate their star. Yet again, he recently walked out on the inauguration of a gym since he was being mobbed and mishandled by fans present. But nobody flogged him for it.

What is it that seems to work in Salman's favour? No matter what he does, people still love him. The answer is simple, goodwill, say industry insiders.

Salman has over the years garnered enough goodwill to bail him out of any nonsense that he indulges in. He recently took his family out to participate in a college cricket tournament organised by Aamir Khan's son Junaid. The match between celebrities and handicapped people had Salman's entire family along with Rani Mukherji. Junaid is unlikely to forget this favour for a long time and nor will Aamir. Salman's also known to help new actors like Arjun Kapoor find their footing in the industry.

SRK, meanwhile, doesn't even give credit where it's due! He upset one of his oldest friends, Juhi Chawla, when he refused to give her brother Bobby (who is in a coma and is also a CEO of Red Chillies), his due share in the credits of RA.One. And when he invited his rumoured love interest Priyanka Chopra to his party, long-time friend Mehr Jessia took it on herself to ask Shah Rukh to send her back since it would upset his wife Gauri. He told Mehr to mind her own business which angered her and her husband Arjun Rampal. These days, the two make it a point not to be seen with SRK.
