Ellis-Bextor opens the Amber Lounge in style

British pop princess Sophie Ellis-Bextor wowed guests at the Amber Lounge on its opening night on Friday at the Yas Links Golf Club on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Singing live, the singer performed her top dance floor fillers Murder on the Dance Floor and the ultimate Ibiza classic Groovejet, to a guest audience that included F1 third driver Jules Bianchi, premiership football star Emile Heskey and Richard Jones, bassist of UK band The Feeling.
Kicking off the night, DJ Mark Pickup had everyone letting loose on the dance floor before resident DJ Micky raised the roof with Amber Lounge signature mixes.
Amber Lounge was founded by Sonia Irvine, sister of Ferrari F1 star Eddie Irvine and launched at the Monaco Grand Prix in May 2003. The premise was to create a VIP After Party that reflected the glamour and exclusivity of one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world. Previous guests include F1 drivers Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher, pop stars Steve Tyler and Nicole Scherzinger and Hollywood actors Hugh Grant and Simon Pegg.
