If there is one actor who is not only admired because of his talents and looks, but also because of his positive influence on young people, that would be Dingdong Dantes. Despite his busy schedule, Dantes managed to successfully graduate from college, obtaining his Technology Management degree from West Negros University in Bacolod, a province south of Manila. Elated over another milestone in his life, Dantes sees completing his degree as one of his more significant achievements. Looking towards the future, he says whatever he has learned will help him carve a career out of show business if and when the time comes for him to retire.
New daddy
The rabbit is out of the hat. Mark Herras finally confirmed that he has fathered a child. In a recent televised interview, Herras confirmed he now has a three-month-old daughter by his former handler, one of the reasons for his break-up with young actress Ynna Asistio. Rumours have been circulating about this for quite some time, but Herras never denied or confirmed it — until last week when he made the admission for the first time on national TV. Herras also said it took him a while to come out with the confirmation to protect certain people. Although he said it was inappropriate, having Ada, the name of his daughter, is not a mistake.
Wardrobe malfunction
Louise delos Reyes is now in the thick of preparations for her upcoming series, Kambal Sirena, where she plays a mermaid. She is undergoing rigorous training in underwater swimming and diving. In one of her training sessions, the actress donned her costume. Everything was going smoothly until she surfaced from the water — the tape covering her chest suddenly came off. Good thing it was a closed shooting, where only a handful of production people were present; otherwise someone could have easily snapped a picture which would have gone viral by now. The producers are looking for an alternative material to cover her upper body to avoid a similar incident happening in the future.
Short hair
Pop star Sarah Geronimo created a stir recently when photos of her with short hair came out. She has been rumoured to be dating Matteo Guidicelli, but her parents, as always, are against her having a serious relationship. In an apparent show of protest, she cut her hair; but has allegedly been wearing a wig in order not to compromise some of her commercial endorsements with prominent shampoo brands, which require her to have long hair. Others say the wig is part of her look for a new movie with Coco Martin. In any case, people have been raving about how her new short do suits her well.
