Angelica’s new SLK; Charice promotes her new movie

Pricey gift

They say a picture speaks a thousand words; and if Angelica Panganiban’s uploaded images on Instagram are anything to go by, it could be true that the actress recently received a brand new Mercedes SLK from rumoured boyfriend, actor John Lloyd Cruz. Panganiban also just recently sold her Mini Cooper, a gift from ex-boyfriend Derek Ramsay, with whom she had a relationship for over six years. Panganiban neither confirms nor denies the pricey gift, but sources close to tabloid! say the luxury car was delivered to the actress’ place, from a dealership that Cruz was recently spotted in.

Venice honours

Although she didn’t win the Volpi Cup at the recently concluded 69th Venice International Film Festival, superstar Nora Aunor is not coming home empty handed. The award-winning actress received the Bisato d’ Oro Award from an independent award giving body in Venice for her portrayal in the film Thy Womb, which was also in competition at the festival. The award was given by the Premio Della Critica Indipendente, a jury of independent film critics who normally give out citations on the sidelines of the oldest film festival in the world. The film, directed by Brillante Mendoza, received the La Navicella Venezia Cinema Award from festival organisers.

New movie

International pop singer Charice Pempengco is promoting her new movie via Twitter. In one of her latest posts, she invited her fans to watch the trailer of Here Comes the Boom, where she plays a bigger role, compared to her past movie appearance in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. In Here Comes the Boom, she acts opposite Hollywood actors Kevin James and Salma Hayek. In the movie, Pempengco plays James’ student, Maila De La Cruz, whom she described as a “musical genius” and a “brainiac.” They filmed in Los Angeles, California and Boston last year.

Moving on

Gerald Anderson has no regrets about trying his luck with pop star Sarah Geronimo. He admitted to courting Geronimo, but the actor revealed he gave up because he didn’t see any relationship forthcoming. Although hurt, Anderson is moving on and is hopeful he will soon meet the girl of his dreams. In the meantime, he will be back on TV for a new prime time soap, opposite Cristine Reyes. But for the fans of Anderson and Geronimo, all is not lost as apparently the pop star is still willing to work with the actor in a third movie next year. Anderson and Geronimo were last seen together in Catch Me… I’m In Love and Won’t Last A Day Without You.
