Dubai Madonna will perform a second concert in Abu Dhabi on June 4, organiser Flash Entertainment announced on Tuesday.

About 22,000 tickets for the singer’s June 3 concert went on sale on Monday, and sold out in less than two hours. The announcement of the “second and final” concert the following day follows “overwhelming fan demand in the Middle East”, said a spokesperson. Tickets, she added, will go on sale March 5.

Disappointed fans who could not get tickets for first show posted angry messages on Flash Entertainment’s Facebook page on Monday.

Abu Dhabi is only Madonna’s second stop on her recently announced World Tour to promote her 12th studio album, MDNA. The first phase of the tour will cover multiple cities in Asia, North America and Europe.

Elton John confirmed

Interestingly, singer Elton John has also been confirmed to perform at the same venue on March 29. The two musical greats have had very public spats recently.

Ticket for the Madonna’s June 4 concert will be similarly priced as the first one, with a limited quantity of General Admission going on sale initially for Dh250 and the rest priced at Dh495. Grandstand tickets will cost Dh695 and Golden Circle tickets, right next to the stage, will be Dh1,095.

VIP hospitality packages will also be available at Dh2,295.
Sale will begin at midday on March 5 at select Virgin Megastore outlets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and on thinkflash.ae.

Ticket details about Elton John’s concert have not been revealed.
