When comedian Russell Peters last performed in Dubai he sold one ticket every two seconds until they had completely sold out. More than 10,000 people saw him perform and nights were extended to accommodate more.

Ranked by Forbes as one of the top 10 highest grossing comics in the US in 2009 and 2010, tabloid! can exclusively reveal after taking some time off from the world stage, Peters will perform his new act in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on March 20 and 22.

The Dubai show will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Tuesday, March 20, presented by Live Nation followed by a show at Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi on Thursday March 22, presented by Flash. Tickets for both shows go on sale at midday on February 29.

"I love coming to the Middle East," said Peters. "The fans there are true fans and I wish I could have come back sooner."

Since his last visit to Dubai Peters has been setting attendance records around the world, with more than 16,000 fans attending his show at London's O2 Arena and almost 14,000 attending his show at Sydney's Acer Arena.

Peters welcomed a new baby daughter in 2010 and has been busy acting and producing films in North America, having also appeared in the movies Source Code and Breakaway.

"I needed to get back on the road. Being a stand-up comic is what I've been doing for 23 years and it's what I love doing," he added.

The Notorious World Tour will take Peters not only to the Middle East, but also to South Africa, Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Australia, New Zealand, Northern Europe and arenas across his native Canada and the United States and also features NYC's DJ Spinbad and comedian Ruben Paul.
