Rita Ora is set to release some new music this week after announcing eight months of studio time are over.

As the first act at Friday’s RedFestDxb, the British singer said that she was nervous since she hadn’t been on stage in five months.

Then, to cheers, she told the afternoon crowd: “I hope you like my new single when it drops next week.”

She had previously announced the single will be I Will Never Let You Down, which features hey boyfriend, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.

Ora last performed in the UAE at a private concert for Chanel’s Little Black Jacket exhibition in 2013.

“This has been the most incredible three years of my life,” said the Kosovo-born star, who played a hit-filled 30 minute set at the festival, ahead of slots by Naughty Boy, John Newman and The Lumineers, although she didn’t debut any new material.

Though known for pop/R&B tracks such as RIP and How We Do, Ora is an exceptional live performer, and showcased her pipes with an acoustic rendition of Radioactive and a cover of Stand By Me.
