The 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival will open on April 10 with the world premiere of the new restoration of Oklahoma! — Fred Zinnemann’s 1955 classic based on the groundbreaking Richard Rodgers-Oscar Hammerstein II musical.

The film, which features such standards as “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning” and “The Surrey with the Fringe on the Top”, stars Shirley Jones, Gordon MacRae, Gloria Grahame, Rod Steiger and Gene Nelson. Jones will be in attendance at the screening in the TCL Chinese Theater IMAX in Hollywood. The movie will be introduced by TCM host Robert Osborne.

TCM also announced several other programmes which have been added to the line-up of the four-day festival. William Friedkin will be on hand for the American premiere restoration of his 1977 thriller Sorcerer; Kim Novak will participate in a screening of 1958’s Bell, Book and Candle; Ryan O’Neal will introduce a screening of 1973’s Paper Moon; and editor Thelma Schoomaker, who has won three Oscars for her work on Martin Scorsese’s 1980 Raging Bull, 2004’s The Aviator and 2006’s The Departed, will appear in conversation at Club TCM, the festival’s central gathering point.
