Mukherjee, who is riding high after her power-packed performance in thriller ‘Talaash’, will be walking the red carpet along with her colleagues Karishma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Urmila Matondkar for an evening directed at celebrating the achievements of women across all spectrums.
The awards night by The Indian Television Academy (ITA) is a mix of glamour and girl power. Last year, Vidya Balan and Sushmita Sen were honoured for their contribution to Indian cinema.
Women from other fields from the UAE, India, Egypt and Bahrain were also honoured for their contribution to various fields including medicine, charity and human rights. The tradition is expected to continue this year, with the names of the recipients to be revealed later.
“[This is a] platform to award women from all over the Middle East,” said Anu Ranjan, the president of ITA.
The night will also see a performance from Ash King, singer of hits Ti Amo and I Love You hits from Dum Maaro Dum and Bodyguard. For bookings, call 052 9196704.
