Hum Tum (2004): In Bollywood’s answer to Harry Met Sally, Saif Ali Khan and Mukherjee hit it off well.
Veer-Zaara (2004): An Indian army officer (Shah Rukh Khan) and Preity Zinta, the Pakistani damsel in distress fall in love; Mukherjee held her own as a fiesty lawyer.
Laaga Chunnari Mein Daag (2007): A movie designed to showcase Mukherjee’s acting prowess, playing a small-town girl who turns to prostitution to save her family. The film didn’t do as well as expected at the box office.
