Dubai: Musical legend Prince will perform at a public concert in Abu Dhabi on November 12, Gulf News can exclusively reveal.

The news the pop sensation was heading to the capital for a 15,000-capacity concert as the climax of this year's Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 14 was met with mixed reactions, as only people with tickets for the Formula One were able to see the Purple Rain singer in action.

Fans now also have an opportunity to see the singer at a separate public event.

An industry insider close to the event revealed that the show will take place at the Flash Forum, a purpose-built indoor venue on Yas Island operated in conjunction with Lebanese superclub Skybar.

The concert will be before a capacity audience of 2,400, two days before his big show at Yas Arena after the main race on November 14.

Tickets are expected to be priced at around Dh500 and they will be on sale on www.thinkflash.ae
