Aisha Tyler is a jack of many trades: actress, author, game-show host, talk-show panelist, podcast proprietor.
But there is at least one thing the Archer leading lady won’t do for a buck.
“Windows,” she replied, in a heartbeat — joking. Maybe.
Let’s race back to Archer before it’s off the air again. The series finally had its season-five debut last night. That’s a full year after the season-four finale. The FX ‘toon spins around secret agents working for a grossly mismanaged independent intelligence service. Imagine peppering a James Bond movie with some of the loopiest characters from The Office.
The new Archer season is something of a reboot of the show, now also dubbed Archer Vice, with the service in such a financial mess that the team is forced to turn to crime. Complicating things: Tyler’s character, the agency’s finest, Lana Kane, is now pregnant.
But Tyler is mum when asked to reveal the daddy.
“I might know who the father is, I can’t tell you,” she replied. “[But] she didn’t get pregnant by accident.”
At 43, Tyler and longtime husband, attorney Jeff Tietjens, have no children — not that they’d have the time. She hosts The CW network’s Whose Line is it Anyway? a revival of the long-running improvisational game show that boasts all the original American-version principals except Drew Carey. Tyler’s also the proprietor of the podcast Girl on Guy, which offers in-depth conversations with artists and also inspired Tyler’s recent book, Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation.
And she even has a day job, as one of the panelists on the CBS daily chat show, The Talk.
“I love to work,” Tyler noted. “I grew up poor. It was a good time, but I’m not interested in going back.
“And I’m going to try to add more jobs to that list,” she continued. “I want to wake up, look back and think, ‘God! I did a lot of stuff.”
