We all have that song, that one song that says it all for us. So today on Valentine’s Day, we asked the UAE’s top personalities to tell us that one track that defines love for them.

Who: Wonho Chung, entertainer

Song: Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered by Ella Fitzgerald

“The song just walks you through the feelings you experience when you meet someone you like, the excitement, the butterflies in the stomach and the emotions that take over your body. If those feelings can be maintained with your loved one over time... then you have got a keeper. Aside from the meaning of the song, Ella Fitzgerald’s song is so soothing to the senses, if spooning honey made a sound, it would probably be her voice... her music provides a perfect soundtrack to any romantic night, any day of the year.”

Who: Dr Apa, celebrity dentist

Song: Married Life by Michael Giacchino.

“I don’t often take the time to properly listen to music. My wife played me a song the other day and I, of course, was trying to hurry through it, but she held my shoulders and said: ‘Stop and listen to this, one day we’re going to be old and I will be there for you, to take care of you for whatever comes our way.’ It’s the first time I’ve truly ‘heard’ a song since my wedding, now I will always listen to this for Valentine’s Day.”

Who: Uma Ghosh Deshpande, TV presenter

Song: With or Without You by U2

“This song really captures U2’s unique sound and shows why the band is one of the most popular bands in the world. I think this song speaks to everyone. I also like that while it is meant to be a love song, it can be taken to have meaning for many different situations. However you take the song, if it means something to you, that’s all that matters, that’s the beauty of art. ‘Nothing to win, nothing left to lose’ can describe many encounters in life. It’s somewhat spiritual, too. I personally can listen to this song all day long.”

Who: Nitin Mirani, comedian and actor

Song: When You Say Nothing at All by Ronan Keating

“Of course other than memories for me, this song is a perfect fit for Valentine’s Day because it does not only define and highlight the relationship between a couple but anyone who you love and who matters to you. A popular choice at any karaoke bar and a favourite to sing while you play the guitar, the lyrics are simple and sincere and even works if you end up fighting with your spouse and are not talking to him/her: ‘You say it best when you nothing at all’.”

Who: Furne One, designer

Song: Crazy For You by Madonna

“Listening to this music, I feel 18 again — full of life, full of love, full of excitement, full of adventure. I grew up with Madonna’s music, together with the blossoming of my heart and my first experience to be crazy in love. So live life, be crazy. C’est la vie.”
