Dubai: Up for a soulful New Year’s Eve in Dubai? Maxwell has you covered. The Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter will be hitting The Act nightclub in Shangri-La Hotel to ring in 2014 with an intimate R&B-meets-funk performance tonight — and Tyrese Gibson might be joining him.
The venue has promised “surprises” during Maxwell’s set. Gibson, who performed a short acoustic set at the same venue Sunday night to celebrate his 35th birthday, posted a photo of himself and Maxwell in front of Burj Khalifa with the caption, “Maxwell is showing me around … This guy has a humble soul,” adding, “Were performing together at THE ACT DUBAI.. NYE #2014”
The two were seen laughing amongst friends in a cheeky video Gibson posted to his Facebook, breaking “the rules on the elevator” by overcrowding a lift.
On December 14, Maxwell performed at a charity event, the Global Gift Gala, hosted by Eva Longoria. Maxwell’s performance included a projection of an Alicia Key’s videoed performance that he sung along to.
Maxwell has posted Instagram photos of himself on the beach, at the Lost Chambers aquarium at Atlantis and as a guest at the third annual Audi Football Night in Dubai.
