Mammootty, John Abraham to be honoured in Dubai

Asian Vision Awards will present awards to South Indian and Bollywood actors

Dubai: Fancy seeing South Indian superstar Mammootty rub shoulders with Bollywood hunk John Abraham? Then head down to Asiavision Movie Awards, to be held at Dubai Festival City on November 15. Actors including Mammootty, Kavya Madhavan, Dulquer Salman, Shwetha Menon, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta and Karishma Kapoor are a part of the guest list.

While Bollywood actor Abraham will be presented the Icon Of The Year award for his body of work as actor and producer, South Indian idol Mammootty will take home the Best Actor trophy this year for his roles in Kunjananthante Kada and Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus. It’s Mammootty’s fourth Asiavision Movie Award. The annual awards show, voted by the public, honour the best in South Indian film with some Bollywood action thrown in.

Actress Kavya Madhavan will continue her winning streak on the awards front, taking home the Best Actress gong for her domestic goddess act in the Malayalam drama Bavuttiyude Namathil.

“This year, our celebrations are going to be bigger than before. We have the best of South India and Bollywood under one roof,” said Nissar Syed, managing director of Asiavision.

Mukherjee will collect an award for Talaash and Bombay Talkies, while actress and IPL owner Preity Zinta will be honoured with the Pride Of Bollywood award for her long reign in the industry.

From the world of Tamil films, actors R Madhavan and Kajjal Aggarwal will be presented with Best Actor awards.

The star-studded show will also see Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor attend as Asiavision’s special guest.
