Fifteen Indian women from different fields, such as actress Usha Jadhav and former police officer Kiran Bedi, were honoured by beauty brand L’Oreal Paris and women magazine Femina on Thursday in Mumbai. The award function was organised to celebrate women achievers in India.

The third edition of the L’Oreal Paris Femina Women Awards 2014 also brought together the three brand ambassadors of L’Oreal — Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif — under one roof.

“Women who are being awarded today are very special as they have worked selflessly. They have a huge contribution in making a difference. It’s a unique award and I am proud to be associated with it,” Kaif said.

The awards were given to women who have worked selflessly for their communities in 14 different categories — social impact, community causes, science, innovation and education, among others.

Rai-Bachchan, Kapoor, Kaif along with Akshay Kumar, Neha Dhupia, Anupam Kher, Swati Piramal, Sabyasachi, and Zarina Screwvala were part of the jury.
