It seems that the consequences of Kristen Stewart’s actions are continuing to sink in... and hard.
After moving out of the Los Angeles home she shares with boyfriend Robert Pattinson following the expose of her steamy affair with married director Rupert Sanders, the Twilight star is said to be in pieces.
The 22-year-old is reportedly staying with her former producer Giovanni Agnelli at his Sunset Plaza abode.
The Welcome To The Rileys filmmaker offered the actress a place to stay after she moved her belongings out of her and Pattinson’s Hollywood Hills home last week, according to Radaronline.com.
Holed up in his home and terrified to face the public, the actress is said to be beside herself.
“Kristen is acting like a heartbroken teenager,” a source told the website. “She is crying her eyes out non-stop and does not want to communicate with anyone.”
According to insiders, Stewart is terrified that she has lost Pattinson forever, and that there is no going back for the pair, following her affair with the Snow White And The Huntsman director.
“She is beyond mortified and humiliated and she is also broken hearted,” the source said. “She says she truly loved Rob. She says he was her soul mate, but she blew it and now she is scared that she has lost him forever. She is pretty much inconsolable.”
The devastated star is said to be so upset that she has not showered in several days and is gorging on ice cream.
“Kristen hasn’t showered or changed or washed her hair in several days,” the source told Radaronline. “She is laying around in her T-shirt and shorts and eating ice cream. She really wants to believe that she can win back Rob, but I think deep down she knows that isn’t the case.”
Meanwhile according to Radaronline, Pattinson has since caught wind that Stewart has been staying at the producer’s home and has now reportedly accused Agnelli of sleeping with his girlfriend.
“Rob knows Agnelli and has been calling him a lot since Kristen has been there,” a source told the website. “He wants to know why Kristen is staying there at his house. He is super angry now and has accused Giovanni of sleeping with Kristen too.”
According to the source, Pattinson made a call to Agnelli in the middle of the night, threatening the Italian producer.
“Giovanni got a call from Pattinson around four this morning, threatening him if he has been sleeping with Kristen,” the source said. “Rob is beside himself over Kristen’s betrayal. No one has ever seen him like this.”
Stewart and her new roommate Agnelli, who worked together on the 2010 film Welcome To The Rileys, appear to be close, and he has so far been very supporting of the Twilight star.
Last week Agnelli defended the actress in a bizarre series of tweets, claiming her affair with Sanders was not sexual.
“I’ll say right now what the manipulative media isn’t saying... Kristen Stewart did not have any type of sex with Rupert Sanders,” he wrote.
Italian Agnelli took to Twitter to defend the starlet, who starred in his film.
“The spin that keeps growing on this story is staggering,” he wrote. “There was NO on set affair. Stop printing LIES.”
The full set of astonishing photographs which captured Kristen locked in a series of steamy encounters with married director Sanders were revealed this weekend.
The candid pictures lay bare the duplicitous pair’s intimate betrayal of their respective partners, Pattinson and Sander’s wife Liberty Ross, who have been left heartbroken in the wake of the scandal.
Stewart and Sander may have thought their afternoon of passion was being conducted away from prying eyes.
But unfortunately for them, July 17 marked the moment they were well and truly caught out.
Two weeks later the photographs — showing them kissing and hugging at secluded stop-offs around Los Angeles — were published in American magazine Us Weekly.
It saw Stewart’s shy and retiring image turned upside down over night and caused outrage among devastated Twilight fans.
Not only has it left a dark stain on her reputation and — some say — tainted the Twilight franchise, but the scandal has thrown the spotlight on to Sanders.
The British director might be used to standing behind the camera — but, along with Kristen, he has been thrust centre stage of the resulting media onslaught.
By his own admission, he is now “praying” that he can ride the storm — and save his marriage to British Vogue model Liberty Ross, 33, who he has two young children with, Skyla and Tennyson.
At 19 years Stewart’s senior, some have pointed the finger more firmly at the 41-year-old filmmaker for engaging her young and impressionable sensibilities.
Whatever the case, the pair were each forced into a remorseful public apology — making it the first time Stewart has ever acknowledged her four-year relationship with 26-year-old R-Pattz.
More than a week on from the news breaking, the torrid tale has generated a constant stream of headlines, while the question still remains as to how the story will resolve.
Pattinson, who remains in hiding, is said to be taking the news hard — and drowning his sorrows.
People.com reported this week that Robert has been “drinking and relying on friends to deal with the pain”.
After moving out of his LA love nest with Stewart, the actor sought refuge at his Water For Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon’s Ojai ranch in California.
Ross, who played Stewart’s on-screen mother in the Huntsman, meanwhile, is said to have banned Sanders from ever working with Stewart again.
It’s cast doubt on whether he will get to helm the rumoured sequel movie.
As for R-Pattz and K-Stew, they still have a final film to promote in November, Breaking Dawn Part 2.
No doubt the studio behind the blockbuster franchise — Summit Entertainment — is praying the pair stick it out for one last red carpet hurrah.
