The opening night of Cle Dubai, a contemporary Middle Eastern restaurant at Al Fattan Currency House in DIFC, on Saturday night was transformed into a melting pot filled with stars from Hollywood, Bollywood and the world of fashion and sports.

If Khloe Kardashian of Keeping Up With The Kardashians fame taught us a thing or two about keeping it real on the black carpet; it was the Hiltons — Paris and Nicki — who seemed to have mastered the art of twirling and posing for the paparazzi. Victoria Secret’s models Irina Shayk and Alessandro Ambrosio revealed their svelte bodies to the world and Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan, who had earned his party stripes with the stupendous success of his action thriller Bang Bang! and surviving a recent brain surgery, showed that he had more than one reason to celebrate.

“I love Dubai. It’s my second time here. But the first time I was here, I was just here for 16 hours, so I wouldn’t say it counted. So it’s like my first time here and I am loving it,” said Kardashian in an interview at a suite at the neighbouring Ritz Carlton. But you would think the reality star, 30, would be used to cameras following her every move by now. But she had a different story up her sleeve.

“I told Kourtney [her sister] that there’s no paparazzi allowed here and she said: ‘Kourtney and Khloe should take to Dubai’. She was so excited about the no-paparazzi clause,” said Kardashian with a laugh. While the reality starlet basked in relative anonymity, Bollywood stars Esha Gupta, Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Bobby Deol and Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh looked all set to devour some good food and great music.

“It’s great to be here ... One of my most memorable days was when I woke up after my surgery and looked all around me. I was looking at the world with new eyes,” said Roshan to reporters.
