After kicking off with a £5,000 (Dh30,000) champagne-fuelled party in Mayfair’s 34 restaurant on Thursday afternoon with friends including Naomi Campbell, Jo Wood and Stella McCartney, the festivities only wrapped up last night.
Moss spent Friday pampering and preparing for the main event on Saturday, a Glastonbury-themed bash estimated to have cost upwards of £100,000. She is said to have started drinking white wine at 10am that day before travelling from London to her Cotswolds home with rocker husband Jamie Hince in the £20,000 vintage Porsche Carrera that was a 40th gift from billionaire Topshop owner Sir Philip Green. The 150 guests including Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw and designer Vivienne Westwood were entertained by Soul II Soul, Massive Attack, Florence And The Machine and DJ Mark Ronson. Hippie-style yurts were set up in the grounds of the house and there was tarot card reading in a vintage airstream trailer as well as fire jugglers and face painters.
Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher is even said to have serenaded Moss with a rendition of Happy Birthday in her kitchen at 6am.
On Sunday, the model cooked roast beef with Yorkshire puddings for the remaining guests and the last stragglers left last night.
Moss has rarely let a birthday pass without a raucous celebration. For her 30th she hosted a legendary party, based on the F Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Beautiful and Damned. When she turned 34 she planned a celebration spanning 34 hours, one for each year of her life, but it ran out of steam after — by her standards — a paltry 18 hours.
