- Deepika Padukone smiles during an interaction with journalists at a press conference held by Olympic Gold Quest & Sports Mechanics, a foundation started by former Indian sportsmen to further India's dream of winning gold medals in Olympics, in New Delhi, India on Tuesday, July 26, 2011.
Bollywood scorcher Deepika Padukone squashed rumours about a fall-out with her peer Kareena Kapoor.
"It's very upsetting to read such reports. The fact is that Kareena and I bonded really well when she came to visit Saif [Ali Khan] in London," said Padukone in an interview with tabloid!.
Their alleged rivalry supposedly arose when director Imtiaz Ali chose Padukone to feature in his 2009 romantic comedy Love Aaj Kal opposite Khan.
"We even spent some time together, hung out. The media seems to be creating all this rift. We got along fine."
Padukone will be seen on-screen with Kapoor's real-life lover Khan in the caste-based reservation drama Aarakshan. Directed by acclaimed director Prakash Jha, Padukone is in a de-glam avatar as a girl torn between family loyalty and love.
It is slated for an August 11 release in the UAE.
