Kanye West proposes to Kim Kardashian

There’s nothing immediately striking about turning 33, but Kim Kardashian is likely remember her 2013 October 21 birthday better than any other after her chart-topping beau Kanye West popped the question — and Kardashian said yes.

E! news reports that the ever-spontaneous West proposed in style, renting out the massive AT&T Park stadium in San Francisco so he can ask Kardashian to marry him in front of their closest loved ones. Having been granted blessings and the green light from Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner, he presented his bride-to-be with a beautiful 15 carat Lorraine Schwartz rock to woo her off her feet.

This isn’t the first time we’re caught off guard with good news about the megastar duo. The two are notorious for their spontaneity, and have been surprising fans since they first locked lips at the 2012 Cannes Festival, officially and publicly confirming their romance once and for all. Not even half a year later in December, the couple announced they were expecting a child — and in June of this year, they welcomed baby North into their family.

Making an appearance on Jenner’s television show after the birth of North, West spoke from the heart about his struggles with depression and the saving grace that came in the form of his new family, saying, “I felt like sometimes I didn’t have something to live for, and now I have two really special people to live for. A whole family to live for. A whole world to live for.”

The newly-blonde star is set to have her official birthday bash at exclusive Las Vegas nightclub Tao this Friday. No word yet on whether twice-divorced Kardashian will have another reality-TV wedding special, as she did for her 2011 nuptials to Kris Humphries. That marriage ended 72 days later.
