Mumbai: Katrina Kaif and Etihad Airways are charting a new course together after uniting in a unique marketing strategy, the first of its kind for the airline.

The tie up between the Bollywood star and the UAE's national airline was announced at a press conference in Mumbai, during which Kaif's commercial for Etihad was screened. In typical Bollywood-style video, Kaif was seen breaking out into a dance at Etihad's diamond lounge as she waited for her flight.

"They are a perfect match for me. For a person who travels so frequently, Etihad was always my personal favourite. Being their brand ambassador was an easy choice to make," said Kaif. Etihad's officials were equally excited about the collaboration.

"Katrina is a very popular face in India and is known internationally too. She has the highest regard for quality, so do we," said Andrew Ward, Vice President of Marketing. Meanwhile, Dubai-based Puneet Manwani - the winner of an online competition conducted by Etihad - saw his dream come true when he got to meet and greet his favourite matinee idol.
