Justin Bieber, Grammy Award winner Arcade Fire and the Angry Birds mobile game are among the nominees for the Webby Awards, the leading international honour for web content.
Bieber was nominated for the video Justin Bieber Takes Over Funny Or Die, while Arcade Fire were noted for the video We Used to Wait for the 15th annual awards where nominees were revealed on Tuesday.
The winners will be announced on May 3 and honoured at a gala on June 13 in New York.
Other celebrities nominated include actors Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Chevy Chase and Meryl Streep and singers Katy Perry and Bob Dylan.
Award organisers said the eclectic mix of nominees showed how the internet has been a driving influence in pop culture. —
