Bollywood actress Jacqeuline Fernandez is in Bahrain for a family reunion this Christmas, but a quick pit stop to Dubai on Christmas Day is all in a day’s work for her.

“This year, Christmas is with my family in Bahrain. Tonight [Christmas Eve], my family and I will be going for midnight mass, opening presents and celebrating with a family dinner. But tomorrow, I will head to the Meena Jeweller’s store opening in Dubai and then return to Bahrain in time for another celebration,” said Fernandes in an interview ahead of her Dubai trip. The actress, who will soon be seen in the much-anticipated thriller Roy also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, is expected to make an appearance at the jewellery showroom in Deira Gold Souq at 6pm on Thursday.

It’s safe to say that the former Sri Lankan beauty queen, 29, has a lot to be thankful for this year. Her last two releases Race 2 with Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham and Kick led by Salman Khan were top grossers.

“It’s been a great year. To work with Salman Khan was a dream come true. He has always been so supportive and he almost relaunched me in Bollywood. Kick gave me a new beginning and inspired me to concentrate on good films with good directors and actors,” said Fernandez. While the success of these two films could be largely attributed to its heros, Roy might prove to be a game-changer for Fernandez,

Roy is a suspense thriller and it’s out of my comfort zone. I play Ayesha, who is a director in the movie and she comes across Kabir played by Arjun Rampal. The story unfolds from there. It is one of those movies where you won’t understand what is going on from the trailers alone. For the first time, I am feeling the heat. And frankly, I have never seen so much of me in a trailer.” She has a point. The success of her films can largely be attributed to its bankable heroes like Khan and Abraham. But she isn’t going to let that dampen her resolution to keep going strong in 2015.

“I don’t believe in resolutions for a new year. I never make them. But I have a resolution for life. I want to keep working harder, be a nicer and a better person. These are my long life resolutions.”
