She may look like an ice queen and have no real talent, but former Spice Girl band member Victoria Beckham has made millions just by being footballer David Beckham's trophy wife. "Posh and Becks" as a phrase was included in the Collins Concise English Dictionary in 2001, and the duo has even penned a biography with the same title. Married for over 10 years, the couple have undoubtedly claimed their place in the tabloids as England's other royal family. Just how royal? Victoria Beckham has gone on a pre-baby spending spree, dropping Dh36,000 on a ‘shabby chic’ nursery, ahead of the arrival of her first daughter - and fourth child - next month.
And a pal has revealed that excited Posh has gone overboard with the girlie theme, spilling. “It’s very tasteful, mostly cream with dashes of pink and every detail has been thought of. The design is shabby chic with French-inspired furniture. The baby will have the finest of everything.”
As well as splashing out on furniture from exclusive LA baby boutique, Petit Tresor, the fashion designer has also started shopping for designer outfits for her daughter, a sister for sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz.
The source added, “Victoria splashed out [Dh3,250] on a bassinet crib and bought a [Dh9,380] changing table and a chaise longue. She also got three teddy bears.”
And the packed-out nursery also includes a Dh10,810 cream wardrobe with bunny rabbits engraved into it, which she has already filled with designer duds bought in New York , including pricey Kate Mack dresses.
Said to have short-listed three names for the baby girl, David and Victoria are refusing to disclose them, but a pal spilled, “Romeo wants to call her Justine Bieber, which is obviously off the list, but Brooklyn is a Beatles fan and suggested Jude, which David and Victoria actually like,” the source said.
