Actor and filmmaker Raghava Lawrence’s Tamil horror-comedy Muni 3 has been rechristened Kanchana 2.
The film is a sequel to the 2011 Tamil blockbuster Kanchana and the third part in the Muni franchise.
“My producers and I felt Kanchana 2 goes with the prequel and will instantly connect with the audience. We earlier titled it Muni 3 because it’s the third film in the franchise,” Lawrence said.
The film has been in the making for a while.
Kanchana 2, which is slated for an April release, has Taapsee Pannu in the lead.
Kovai Sarala and Devadarshini are also part of the film, which will be distributed by Thenandal Films.
