G.V. Prakash is now onto his second film, Darling, a remake of Telegu film, Prema Katha Chithram.

A.R. Rahman’s nephew lost no time in emerging from his uncle’s shadow to find his own place as a music composer in Tamil cinema and other south Indian language films. Last year Prakash eventually arrived in Bollywood with Gangs of Wasseypur.

Donning the producer’s hat, he made Madha Yaanai Kootam in 2013.

Acting was just a call away. Prakash was signed for Pencil, his first film as a hero, opposite Sree Divya.

Directed by newcomer Sam Anton, Darling is touted as a horror comedy. Prakash is paired opposite Nikki Gilrani.

“Darling will be better than the original version,” said Prakash, who was offered the film by producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja, who was impressed with his performance in Pencil, which is still in the making.
