Shah Rukh Khan embarks on a world tour with the cast of his upcoming film Happy New Year this Friday and says it’s all for his fans.

Madhuri Dixit, Malaika Arora Khan, singers Yo Yo Honey Singh and Kanika Kapoor will also join Khan’s entourage for the SLAM tour, which kicks off this Friday in Houston.

“World tour is not a selfish show, it’s for the viewers. We are going to entertain them,” Khan said when asked about the details of the show by reporters at the music launch of Happy New Year on Monday.

Other than Khan, the starry cast of Farah Khan’s directorial Happy New Year includes Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

“We will be performing on songs from Happy New Year and on our other famous songs as well. Boman and Farah will do a special performance on Darde disco with their six pack abs,” added the superstar with a laugh.

Farah and Irani had romanced each other in the 2012 film, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi.

Friendly gesture

Meanwhile, Khan says he’s happy to promote the film on his once-rival Salman Khan’s TV show Bigg Boss. “Everybody is courteous and gracious and so is Salman Khan,” said Khan, reacting to Salman’s friendly gesture.

The two are known for their infamous rivalry, but now both seem to be reaching for the olive branch. If Salman was gracious enough as the host of Bigg Boss 8 to say that they will promote Khan’s Happy New Year on the reality show, the Bollywood Badshah said he would try his best to utilise the platform.

When asked about Salman’s comment, Khan said: “The marketing is part of the production and whatever we are asked to do, we will do it. We would only be happy to be going wherever we are invited.”

“Everybody is very courteous and gracious and so is Salman bhai [brother]. We love that he thought we should come there. If we have the scope and time, most certainly we will go there. If we don’t have it, please don’t take it seriously and say that we avoided it. It just needs to be done when it needs to be done.

“I think it’s gracious of Bigg Boss to talk about our film. It’s wonderful and sweet of everyone,” he said.
