Kavi Shastri turns ‘chai-wala’

Actors play a multitude of characters in their career. For Kavi Shastri, it was time to play a streetside ‘chai-wala’ (tea vendor) for an episode of the TV show Love By Chance.

The show’s host, Shastri, an Indian who was born and raised in London, wore a kurta and stood behind a table with a stove, tea saucepan and kettle among other items used by tea vendors, for the shoot.

A colourful umbrella added some jazz to the otherwise plain look of the actor in the romantic comedy show, aired on Bindass.

Love By Chance showcases a story every week about two individuals who stumble into love.

It’s 200 episodes for Ye Hai Mohabbatein

Telly entertainer Ye Hai Mohabbatein, from the house of Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, has clocked 200 successful episodes. The milestone called for celebrations on the show’s set.

When the show was being launched on Star Plus in December last year, Kapoor said she was confident of its content. It started as an urban story of two Delhi-based neighbours — the Iyers and Bhallas — who have a conflict-prone relationship.

The show has been appreciated by audiences and its lead actors — Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel — have gotten their love.

To celebrate the occasion, the entire cast and crew cut cakes on the set and had a cosy get together.
