Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has crossed the 9-million follower mark on Twitter.
The 48-year-old actor is now the second most followed Indian actor on Twitter after Amitabh Bachchan, who has 10.4 million followers. Bachchan, 69, is a regular on Twitter and talks about life and films (in that order).
The Happy New Year star joined Twitter in July, 2010 and has since shared 7,718 tweets. His contemporaries Salman Khan, who’s known for his random musings. and Aamir Khan, who takes to Twitter when he’s a movie or a TV show to promote, lag behind with 8.26 million and 8.45 million followers respectively.
Among Bollywood actresses, Deepika Padukone has the maximum number of Twitter followers with 7.29 million fans following her updates. Close on her heels is Mary Kom actress Priyanka Chopra with 7.01 million followers. Chopra is prolific while tweeting and lets her personality shine through her tweets. She promotes her films, post selfies and talks about life in general in her tweets.
Bang Bang star Hrithik Roshan, who has 6.56 million Twitter followers, is far behind and is likely to gather more followers in the run upto his action-thriller releases. Fun contests such as daring Shah Rukh Khan to reveal his excercise routine may help him gather speed.
