Rahul Bhat, who will be seen on the big screen with Ugly, says thanks to young, creative directors and new stories, these are great times for actors in the country.
Bhat, who became popular with a lead role in TV soap opera Heena, tried his luck at films with duds such as Yeh Mohabbat Hai and Nayee Padosan. He is now hoping for a new lease of life in filmdom with Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly.
“Opportunities have opened up for actors and directors, and we even have fantastic new stories,” Bhat said.
“It’s my good fortune that I am getting to work with a director like Anurag Kashyap in Ugly. I needed a good script to work in. I could not do just any film. Ugly is a classic, it’s a bit dark but has a gripping story.”
Ugly also features Ronit Roy and Tejaswini Kolhapure in key roles.
