Nirmat Kaur shot to fame with her performance in 2013 film "The Lunchbox"

Nimrat Kaur, who rose to fame with The Lunchbox last year, has now bagged a role in American TV series Homeland.

Bobby Jasoos actor Ali Fazal was also approached for a role in Homeland, but due to clash of dates he had to let go of the offer. And now, Kaur is the Indian face who will be seen in the hit TV show.

“Pretty fun for someone who watched the pilot after the screen test! Season 4 HOMELAND it is,” Nimrat tweeted Friday.

Along with her, Mad Men star Mark Moses and Art Malik will also join the drama.

Kaur will be seen as a high-level operative within Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence, while Moses’s character Dennis is described as an academic teaching political science at Islamabad’s Quaid-I-Azam University.

Malik, best known for playing the villain in 1994 action-thriller True Lies, is playing the character of an old friend of Saul’s retired Pakistani general Bunran “Bunny” Latif.

Homeland is shooting its fourth season in South Africa, where Cape Town is doubling for Islamabad.

Produced by Fox 21, the series’s main cast includes Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, among others. Homeland returns with its new series from October 5.
