Ileana D’Cruz isn’t giving anything away about the likelihood of starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan — but she does have a message about angora fur.

The Filmfare award winner (for Telugu film Devadasu) was in Dubai on Wednesday to model for Indian designer Satya Paul at the opening party of the Mint Leaf restaurant in the city’s financial district.

Clad in a silky, sleek sari, she walked the length of the restaurant as the showstopper before settling on a couch in the private dining room for a chat with tabloid!.

Q. Rumours are flying that you’re starring with Shah Rukh Khan in Fan. Can you tell us more?

A. Oh my gosh! I’ve said this before — I am as confused and perplexed as everyone else is. I have no idea about these rumours coming out. I do have Happy Ending with Saif Ali Khan, that’s coming out very soon and I think I’ll be back in the city to promote it. So looking forward to that.

Q. So we’re here at the launch of an Indian restaurant. What do you like to eat?

A. My choice varies. I went to a lovely French restaurant this afternoon, La Petite Maison. Yum, yum yum. I just gorged. They’ve got this really nice thing for breast cancer awareness too.

Q. You’re involved with another cause — animal rights, having just signed up with Peta. Tell us about that.

A. I’ve always been incredibly fond of animals and I’ve always been incredibly impressed with the work they do. So when they approached me I said I don’t really care what campaign it is, I’m going to do it. They told me about angora fur and how violently the rabbits are treated. I didn’t really watch the video because I can’t bear to watch it. I think it’s really nice that awareness is being raised about it because I had no idea that fur can actually be sold as wool, so it was enlightening for me, and I hope for everyone.
