Director Anurag Kashyap has denied reports that his much-awaited period drama Bombay Velvet has been postponed again.

The 42-year-old filmmaker took to Twitter to set the record straight and said the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma film will release on its scheduled date of May 15.

Bombay Velvet is releasing on May 15th and is not postponed. Don’t believe all the stories in the papers. Judge the film when you see it.,” Kashyap tweeted.

The film, which also marks the full-fledged acting debut of director Karan Johar, was initially slated to release last November but was delayed due to pending VFX work.

Bombay Velvet, based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables, tells the story of how the city in 1960s became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music.

Raveena Tandon, who was slated to play a jazz singer in the film, has opted out of it due to the changes in the sequences in the post-production stage.
