Akshay Kumar-starrer, Neeraj Pandey directed Baby missed its first show this morning in the UAE. Having been extensively shot in Abu Dhabi, the film is an espionage thriller from the director of successful films A Wednesday and Special 26. Baby chronicles the story of a team of men working in a covert counter-intelligence unit and their bid to thwart a terrorist attack that may obliterate India.

Rumour had it that the film ran into censorship issues due to its subject matter but the National Media Council said there were none.

“We have already given a ‘no objection’ from our end,” said Juma Obaid Al Leem, director of the Media Content Tracking at National Media Council. “I think it’s better to ask the distributors regarding the delay”.

When tabloid! contacted distributors Al Mansoor, we were told that there were “no issues” and the morning shows may just not be happening. But when asked why bookings were not being taken for later shows till afternoon, the spokesperson insisted bookings were open for afternoon shows now.

Producer T-Series was unavailable for comment.

Bookings for Baby are now available at Novo Cinemas Dubai Festival City and Ibn Battuta Mall and the WTC Mall Abu Dhabi, and Vox Cinemas Marina Mall Abu Dhabi and Fujairah City Centre.
