Dubai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is in Abu Dhabi this week to shoot a portion of his action-thriller Baby, directed by Neeraj Pandey of Special Chabbis fame,

Kumar, who celebrated his 47th birthday last week and his son’s birthday this Monday, took to Twitter to announce the news.

“Flew 2 Abu Dhabi after my Son’s 12th Birthday dinner! This chopper is now takin me in2 the depths of the desert for #Baby ;) [sic],” wrote Kumar, posting a picture of a waiting chopper by way of explanation.

He is seen walking towards the waiting vehicle, but hasn’t disclosed the exact destination of filming.

When tabloid! contacted Kumar’s secretary, she confirmed that Kumar will be in Abu Dhabi for the next five days but did not elaborate on whether it was a song or an action sequence.

South Indian actor Rana Duggabatti, who also stars in Baby, is rumoured to be with Kumar in Abu Dhabi. Baby is expected to release in January next year.

It’s not Abu Dhabi’s first time hosting the filming of a big Bollywood film. In May, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and bankable actress Katrina Kaif were also in Abu Dhabi to shoot a action sequences for the much-anticipated Bang Bang.

Abu Dhabi’s media production company TwoFour54, the most likely partners for assisting in filming of Baby locally, are yet to comment.

However, Paul Baker, executive director of twofour54 intaj, in an interview with tabloid!, had confirmed that they had three films lined up to film this year, including one that was due to start around this time. Stay tuned for details.
