Dubai: Twofour54 on Tuesday confirmed the completion of filming of 'Bang Bang', the first Bollywood production of Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.

Hrithik and Katrina filmed in the UAE capital for nearly three weeks, at locations including the Corniche, Liwa oasis, Hyatt Capital Gate Hotel, Qasr Al Sarab, Emirates Palace and Yas Island.

“Abu Dhabi’s popularity as a destination to produce films has grown beyond Hollywood to include Bollywood – this is another step forward in the emirate’s emergence as an international filming and production hub,” said Noura Al Kaabi, CEO of twofour54.

After filming 12 hours of relentless action sequences every day in Abu Dhabi for nearly three weeks, the two Bollywood’s bankable stars and Katrina Kaif are likely to call it a wrap for Bang Bang on Tuesday.

Their next stop after the sunny locales of the UAE capital is the picturesque Prague, industry sources told tabloid!

The hit Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara pair, who are busy at work recreating Hollywood film Knight And Day in Bollywood style, are pouring all their energy into making the Siddharth Anand-directed thriller believable.

So much so that the set of Bang Bang is a heavily-guarded fortress with security being beefed up considerably, compared to past Bollywood shoots in the UAE.

Low profile

Rumour has it that the crew have to deposit their mobile phones at a counter every morning for the fear of images being leaked — even though the plot details of Knight and Day are just a DVD watch away.

Unlike the affable Happy New Year team led by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in Dubai who made multiple appearances across the city during its filming last September, the Bang Bang duo has preferred to keep a low profile.

The actors have also declined to interact with the local press, saying they want to focus on their roles.

Produced by Fox Star Studios and twofour54, Bang Bang will be released in the UAE on October 2, three weeks before the annual Abu Dhabi Film Festival. But according to our sources, the Bang Bang team is planning an extensive promotional drive in the UAE closer to the release of the film.

Bang Bang has been in the spotlight since filming began in May 2013, when Hrithik suffered a head injury while performing an action sequence in Thailand, leading to surgery.

The actor also ended his 13-year marriage to wife Sussanne, so his reticence to speak publicly — as we also saw at the recent IIFA awards — isn’t surprising.
