If you thought Kim Kardashian paired with Kanye West was one of the more unusual celebrity combos, think again.
Once upon a time, she was Paris Hilton’s assistant/friend.
All it took was an Instagrammed picture from the Mediterranean party island of Ibiza on Sunday to get us reminiscing about the time when we didn’t know who on Earth she was, other than a dowdy brown smudge at the edge of party pictures of Hilton.
That time was 2006, when Kardashian didn’t have a career, fame or a nose job.
“Reminiscing about the 1st time we went to Ibiza in 2006! @parishilton it was so good to see you & catch up!! Loves it lol” wrote Kardashian, now one of the most famous people in the world, on Sunday night, captioning a photo of herself with Hilton in Ibiza.
In 2006, she was Hilton’s assistant, working for the woman who was then the world’s biggest famous-for-nothing star as she travelled the world, healing the sick and kissing stuffed animals. Kardashian was also known as LA’s closet-organising queen, helping the likes of Cindy Crawford sort out their jeans and heels. Then 2007 rolled around with that little video, a $5 million (Dh18.4 million) settlement with ex Ray J and an ongoing reality TV show. Google Trends shows their internet reach over the past 10 years.
