Ricky Martin fans in the UAE, do you want the Latin pop sensation to perform in your city? Well, you can make it happen.
The pop star, who earlier this year launched Ricky Martin Around The World, an interactive map through which fans can vote for their cities to host the singer when he embarks on his world tour, has said he would love to perform in the emirates — if his fans will let him.
“It will be nice to eventually perform in Dubai, I love the city,” the singer told tabloid!. Martin was in Dubai in December for a charity event but did not perform.
He recently released his Fifa World Cup single called Vida, which was selected via a contest with Sony Music. Called Supersong, the contest asked aspiring musicians from 29 countries to pen the ultimate football World Cup song, which will then be recorded by Martin.
The winning son, Vida, was written by Elijah King and the track was produced by Salaam Remi, who has worked with names such as Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Santana, Sting, Amy Winehouse, among others.
“I’ve enjoyed every moment of this process, from Sony’s invitation to be part of the Supersong, to picking the winning song out of thousands and recording it, to traveling to Brazil to film the video. It feels amazing to have had the opportunity to be participating in this global initiative. I can’t wait to perform it and for the World Cup to start!” Martin said.
