Prince Harry went back to school on Sunday, attending a workshop to inspire young people to use social media.

But he had a frank admission for his fellow students, declaring: “I really quite hate Twitter.”

The 29-year-old joined 60 youngsters from London to discuss how to use networks such as Twitter and Facebook to promote his Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style event for wounded service personnel from 14 countries.

During an impromptu question and answer session, he hit out at Twitter for what he described as its “invasion” of his privacy. When asked if he would be tweeting during the Games, Harry said: “I would love to get involved and go on social media and if it was for causes like this, I really would.

“The issue for myself and my family, put quite simply, is that it’s very hard for me to tweet about the Invictus Games and tweet about something that means a lot to me...whereas at the same time, I really quite hate Twitter by the invasion of privacy. I think you all understand what I’m talking about.’

The prince has spearheaded the Games, which will be held in September at the Olympic Park in London.
